If science is a structure of knowledge, then, like a crystal, it's growth is at the edges. What is known as scientific fact can only take us so far - beyond is enigma, mystery, and paradox. Like a curious cat we cannot resist that edge.
Stepping beyond the edge is all ways controversial, as alternative history, alternative science, alternative spirituality, - anything that challenges established thought - is bound to be. Sometimes new ideas are wrong, that is the nature of exploration. Yet this mystical quest is our irrevocable destiny.

A cat fills nine lives with curiosity. We humans can too, by seeking to restore our sense of wonder and to find and nourish it in today's world. The ever stranger stories we find along the way are but stepping-stones, not the goal. The goal is not outside us.
When patterns emerge from disparate sources, when our inner knowing is humming the same tune, when our everyday life becomes the process, then we may raise our head in the vast cosmos and see - just a bit - what we really are.

There are native tribes in South America with a language so precise that computer programmers study it for insights into logic. This group of languages has a worldview more inclusive than the "either / or" so beloved by modern science. In this way of speaking someone could as easily tell his fellows that something was true, was not true, or that he didn't know if it was true or not. The third possibility on an equal footing with yes and no rather than, as science sees it, an exception waiting to be resolved.
