Tarot

A method of gaining perspective on life situations. Some say it is of Ancient Egyptian origin, or earlier, but others insist there is no proof that it is more than about 500 years old.

Perhaps the Tarot can be seen as asking the universe outside ourselves to create a picture of a situation. Chance can be seen as the sum of the effects of the universe outside ourselves. The cards selected by chance reflect the current time and the direction things are pointing, not a fixed future.

Others see it as a personal communication with a higher intelligence within themselves, suggesting points of view that the conscious mind has been avoiding.

(the real paradox is that both are true)

Point being this is not predicting the future; it is gaining better knowledge of the present.

The Knights Templar

The Templars were founded during the crusades, (at least in part) to protect pilgrims to the Holy Land by taking care of their money. The secretive order became very wealthy and many consider them the first international bankers. The Templars are "usual suspects" in many conspiracy theories.

The greatest archeological find of the 20th century, the wonders found in this Egyptian Pharaoh's tomb can only hint at what was placed in the tombs of more prominent pharaohs, only to be stolen and melted.

(it's perhaps meaningful to note, with Howard Carter, that Tutankhamen (King Tut), who was the only Pharaoh whose tomb was found (mostly) intact, was the one who returned the old religion of Amon after the "heresy" of worship of the Sun, Aton or Aten.)
