- "According to ancient legend, Sagittarius is said to be shooting at the Heart of the Scorpion, ... the star Antares (Alpha Scorpius). ... (That) aim was on target around 13,865 B.C. At that time, the arrow trajectory came within two-tenths of a degree of designating the location of the Galactic center. quote from website. - Sound for healing and growth. "if the note of "C" is low (in volume) in a person's voice, chances are the element of the zinc is also low in the body. The frequency of the note of "C" at the second octave is 65.40 cycles per second (hertz), and the atomic weight of the element of zinc is 65.37." quote from website
- . . . (this only makes sense if the second is a natural, rather than arbitrary, measure of time. . . It may well be a cosmic constant, it is quite old, at least as old as the Egyptian Pyramids (about 2500 BCE))

- Robert Lawlor
- Robert has looked very deeply into the spiritual heritage of ancient peoples, notably Egypt, India and Australia. His work is most profound, although a bit difficult, for he speaks of things far outside our habitual world and of occult knowledge that in the past was reserved to those who would spend their lifetimes in it's study.
- "Songlines are so named because they are maps written in songs, depicting mythic events at successive sites along a walking trail that winds through a region. Each Aboriginal tribe inherited a network of songlines, and all travel in the lands of neighboring tribes was done along these lines."

- "A land ethic, then, reflects the existence of an ecological conscience, and this in turn reflects a conviction of individual responsibility for the health of the land." quote from website
- "We reached the old wolf in time to watch a fierce green fire dying in her eyes. I realized then, and have known ever since, that there was something new to me in those eyes--something known only to her and to the mountain. I was young then, and full of trigger-itch; I thought that because fewer wolves meant more deer, that no wolves would mean hunters' paradise. But after seeing the green fire die, I sensed that neither the wolf nor the mountain agreed with such a view." from "Killing the Wolf"

- Steve Lewis
- We are complex beings of energy. This energy is twisted and bent in many directions by injuries, bad habits, past lives, and the general (ill) health of the planet.
Stephen Lewis claims to have found the frequencies to unlock this twisting and the methodology to transmit this power to people continuously through their photographs. The claim is that this work builds on the Oriental sciences of Acupuncture and Feng Shui, the work of Wilhelm Reich, Homeopathy, and much more.- This may be a major breakthrough in consciousness disguised as a religion (Energetic Matrix Church of Consciousness) to keep the medical gestapo away. Or perhaps another "new age" dead end.

- Ley Lines Earth energy tracks.
- The Earth has lines of energy that run across the countryside - lines of great spiritual importance to ancient and native peoples. In Britain and nearby France these lines of force were in ancient times channeled and directed with large standing stones (often pointed) and earthworks, an ancient technology so lost today we have difficulty conceiving of the energy involved or the reason(s) for it's use, whether to enhance fertility and abundance, for use in spiritual practices, or, as David R. Cowan speculates, to benefit the dead:
- "The main intention of the ley system must have been to help their dead into the next life, or perhaps a form of feng shui, to give good health and success to those left behind. They obviously believed in the survival of the human spirit, and the brilliant design and construction of this small portion of the ley system shows how important they believed this was."
- Quote from Cowan's Web site: www.leyman.demon.co.uk/Standing_Stones,_Ley_Line_and_Power_Points.html
- Paul Devereux has conducted Ley Line research for over twenty years.
- He believes straight lines ease movement (of what?) and bent lines slow movement, a concept also found in Feng Shui.

- "We understand (ley lines) to be not only real but also a vital, dynamic and beautiful aspect of this planet's life."

- Some ancient sites such as the King's chamber of the Great Pyramid were carefully designed to create harmonious patterns whether of sound or some unknown energy. Paul Devereux has found that some megalithic sites in the British Isles resonate at around 110 Hertz.
- Acoustic Article: www.acemake.com/PaulDevereux/acoustic.html. Both Devereux links are archived.
- Fantasy author Mercedes Lackey writes of a land where magic is stronger than it is in our world (at least today). In her books all living things give off unseen energy that collects and flows underground in growing channels (leys) to points where these leys converge called nodes. The energy is then transmuted to a different level, normally by a slow "evaporation", but it can also provide the power for magical works. Kind of a parallel to the water cycle with Merlin in the middle.
- An introduction to Ley research with lots of links: www.tlh6976.fsnet.co.uk/leytruth.htm
- (Hints of ancient knowledge of the leys are seen in many lands - the songlines of Australia, Feng Shui in China, perhaps the Mound culture of North America. Only in Europe, however do we find such massive effort to straighten and channel this energy, rather than allow it to flow naturally. Modern roads now follow the old tracks, modern churches have been located atop the ancient shrines, many of the old stones and earthworks still stand. The system, although degraded, must still be working, abet without the skilled adepts to moderate it. A lot to be considered there.)

- Charles E Little
- "The primitive forests encountered by the early British, Dutch and French colonists were filled with trees of mythic proportions and Biblical age. ... It was said that a tree squirrel could travel from the Atlantic shore to the Mississippi River without once dropping to the ground.
... When we destroy forests, we destroy not only the trees that had occupied the landscape, but possibly future trees as well. Replacement forests of second-growth trees are less able to resist drought and cold, adventitious pests, and diseases, because they grow only in simplified stands, not in the vigorous, complex forest ecosystems that evolved naturally over eons." quote from website

- Lonely Planet travel guides.
- Tony and Maureen Wheeler took the well-worn backpack trek from Australia through Asia to Europe and back, then wrote a guidebook about how to travel on the cheap. They've come a long way since then, with a long list of guides covering almost anywhere you can think of, and they now cover up-market places, too, but the idea is still to really see the place, interact with it, and leave both you and where you visit better for it.
- These are the guides most experienced asia-holics use (and complain about, nothing's perfect).

- Bo and Sita Lozoff
- The Prison Ashram project - Bo and Ram Dass realized, in 1973, the similarities in some respects between the prison experience and that of a strict life of meditation. They founded the Prison Ashram project, which has grown to touch hundreds of thousands of people.
- "The nature of our lives is an incomprehensibly wonderful mystery which each human being can experience only in solitude and silence. Prisoners have the opportunity to dedicate themselves to this inward journey without the distractions and luxuries which occupy many people in the 'free world.'"

- Howard F. Lyman
- A former cattle rancher, now a vegetarian convinced of the dangers of commercial beef. On the Oprah Winfrey TV show he claimed ranchers were feeding meat, including beef, to cattle, and by this exposing Americans to possible infection with Mad Cow Disease. Mad ranchers sued him and Oprah. Great sense of humor and a lot of good information.
