Ghosts

Several different phenomena seem to be at play here:

There are mysterious lights, like the well known "Brown Mountain Lights" that appear in certain areas with some regularity. This may be some kind of Earth energy, perhaps the result of tectonic pressure or magnetic events within the Earth.

Ball Lightning, St Elmo's Fire, and other electrical effects.

Orbs - unless these are simple photographic artifacts, may be some undiscovered energy.

Spirit Guides, Elementals, after death (archived link) contact, and legitimate channeled contact.

The Poltergeist phenomenon - objects flying around, appearing and disappearing at random - appears to be involuntary psychokinesis, often by adolescent girls who have no idea they are causing all the trouble.

And lastly: Bits of the persona of someone who died, often tragically, stuck in a place to re-live past events and scare the willies out of anyone nearby.

Giza (Gizeh or Gisa) Egypt

Location of the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx, near the ancient city of Memphis and modern Cairo.

The author of this website has two sites about Ancient Egypt, both full of 19th century engravings by David Roberts and many others, first hand descriptions, and conventional and unconventional theories.

AscendingPassage.com is an overview of the range of Ancient Egyptian history with discussions of the main sites and ideas.

PYMD.com is about the great pyramids of the third and fourth dynasties - the era of massive construction - and the important questions they pose for the history of mankind.

Dr. Robert Schoch, PhD from Yale in geology and geophysics, was recruited by John Anthony West to examine the geologic weathering on the Great Sphinx of Egypt. His conclusion was that the Sphinx and nearby temple show massive water erosion.

This would mean that they were standing when the Giza area had a lot of rain, at least 8,000 years ago. Conventional archeology puts the Sphinx at about 4,500 years old so these findings have not been welcomed by the establishment, but have encouraged those who believe that there were earlier civilizations long before dynastic Egypt.

Dr. Zahi Hawass is the Director of Antiquities for Giza and more recently for all of Egypt. Fully in the conventional camp, he has been criticized for his slowness in approving projects - the chamber under the Sphinx, found by ground penetrating radar years ago, is still un-opened for example, at least publicly. However the articles on his website make it clear that this man is deeply in love with ancient Egypt and, one has to say, the treasures are in good hands.

The Great Pyramid, believed to have been built by Pharaoh Cheops (Khufu) in ancient Egypt's fourth dynasty, is still the most massive stone structure in the world and one of the oldest. The numerous unanswered questions about it have spawned an endless tide of speculation. Lost in the noise are the other large pyramids nearby that exhibit similar construction, precision and (almost) size: two others at Giza (Chephren and Menkaure), the Red and Bent pyramids at Dahshur and the broken remnants of the Pyramid at Meidum.

Rudolf Gantenbrink designed a small robot that explored the 8 inch square southern passage that leads from the queen's chamber of the great pyramid in Egypt, the Upuaut project. Deep in the passage the robot found what appears to be a small limestone door. Gantenbrink was not involved in the follow-up when researchers drilled a small hole in the door only to find a second door behind it.

The psychic Edgar Cayce spoke of a secret chamber under the Sphinx containing a great hall of records of previous ages.

The Giza plateau is home to two other very large pyramids and a handful of smaller ones. The pyramid of Chephren (Khafre) appears to be larger than Cheops' Great Pyramid because it is located on higher ground. This huge structure has a number of much larger stones at its base than the other Giza pyramids, stones similar to those in the small temple near the Sphinx. This has caused some to wonder if these are remnants of much earlier construction, reused and built over by fourth dynasty Pharaohs.

One of the greatest mysteries of archaeology is the apparent sudden rise of Egyptian civilization, from simple villages to the building of the pyramids in perhaps a couple hundred years. This culture then ebbed and flowed for two thousand years, never again reaching the pinnacle of its early achievements.

Cheops' Boat

An astoundingly beautiful boat was found, disassembled, in a pit near the base of the Great Pyramid. Carbon dating puts the age of it's cedar planks at about 4500 years ago, about the accepted time of Cheops reign and his (re-)building of the Giza monuments.

Many believe this sublime 133-foot boat, of excellent construction, was clearly capable of crossing the Atlantic. A second boat has been found nearby and remains in it's pit with a carefully controlled environment awaiting funds for it's reconstruction.

Gravitational Anomalies (vortexes)

The Oregon Vortex in Gold Hill, Oregon is a place where normal physics does not apply. Balls roll up hill, people stand at an angle rather than straight up, and relative size is, - well, - relative. Because these effects are impossible under current scientific theories, most scientists ignore the Oregon Vortex and a half dozen similar spots such as Mystery Spot, north of Santa Cruz, California. The effects appear to be real and demand that scientific theories be re-examined, something Albert Einstein suggested when he visited the Oregon Vortex.

String Theory, in physics, attempts to describe the make up of quarks, which in turn make up electrons, protons, and neutrons, the components of atoms which make up molecules and thus all (known) matter. Got that?

There are variations of atoms, depending on the number of neutrons, that are called isotopes, different forms of the same substance.

What hasn't been discussed is if different forms of these strings and quarks can form alternate forms of matter also, thus giving support for important claims of Alchemy and Homeopathy.

The strings are vibrations, the Scientists are not sure what, if anything, is vibrating.
